I'm waiting for cybrbeast....
ReplyDeleteWow amazing. NOT!
ReplyDeleteYou are referring mostly to comments on message boards and blog comments etc.
These are just people who misused the term like you did.
I could also claim that "better then you" is the right way to write it because google gives 248000 hits on the query "better then you"
Calling Shotgun explained:

Commonsense.net
shotgunrules.com
Urban dictionary
Furthermore, your post is in Dutch.. And you should write the reason for your post in your post, so that people like dekus know why you made the post.
I'm not saying this is proof or that its in agreement with the official rules. I'm merely saying that it's used outside it's context and that it's more then remotely possible that I've heard it a few times before outside of it's " official" context (example: friends TOW the quiz)
ReplyDeleteThis is fun!
ReplyDelete"more than remotely" :)
ReplyDeleteYeah OK, it might be used outside of it's official meaning. But what I was saying is that it's the wrong way to use it. And I still think so.
BTW, why don't you have a bear as an avatar in your comments?
ReplyDeletecoz my bear is only used in special occasions?
ReplyDeleteI think it's because you don't know how to activate your bear in the comments.
ReplyDeletehaven't tried, but if I wanted to I could create a php-script which would generate the bear every single time my name was uttered.
