Visions for Psychedelics

"A single dose of psilocybin, the active ingredient in the infamous psychedelic mushrooms indigenous to Mexico, triggered long-lasting mystical experiences in several dozen middle-aged volunteers enrolled in an unusual study at Johns Hopkins University.

Roland Griffiths and his colleagues brought 36 people into the laboratory for an eight-hour session during which they experienced their first psychedelic high. Two thirds of them said that the trip was among the most profound spiritual events in their life, Griffiths reports. A third rated it as their number-one awakening, and their family and co-workers said they seemed happier in the months after the experiment, according to a follow-up study just concluded."

  1. During my first trip I realized I felt sorry for all those people who never enjoyed magic mushrooms. They choose not to have the 'most profound spiritual event in life'!

  2. Or they just choose the "save way". Personally I'm afraid to loose control of reality (or my understanding of that) and thus afraid for the infamous "bad trip". With that in your mind you will have (I think!) most certainly a bad trip. I heard you talking about Mr. Wiggles vs. The Duc ( ;) ) and I'm not waiting for that to happen to me...

So, what "most profound spiritual event in life" means for you, maybe something else to others.

  4. The dose response curve(relation between dose and intensity of effects) of mushrooms is more or less the same as with alcohol.

You don't have to be afraid to puke, fuck your sister and blackout if you drink one beer. The same is true for losing control with mushrooms and most(all?) drugs.

There definitly is a safe way to use mushrooms and be sure you won't lose control. Just take a very small amount. Changes are that you won't feel anything though and the full effects of mushrooms come with (or are somewhat equal to) a mental sensitivity/vulnerability.

I've never felt more in control than while tripping, but I've also felt on the verge of losing reality while tripping. I've never totally lost reality while on mushrooms and I've never had a bad trip in more than 15 trips. I've heard different stories from other people though so your concerns are real. It's a rollercoaster-ride that you can't predict.

Don't use mushrooms if you don't feel like it. My curiosity to the working of the human brain and the plain fun I get out of psychedelics, will probably make me use almost any drug that comes in my way.

Feel free to contact me if you have a new drug :)
