Dutch Coalition Supports Use of Drug Detection Spray in Schools
A majority of the Dutch parliament now supports the use in school of a special spray developed in Israel which can detect traces of marijuana, ecstasy, heroin and cocaine. The idea is to spray it on clothing, lockers and other student material. When the test is positive the school would inform the parents.
The opposition parties D66 and SP are critical of the plan and actually support the testing of ecstasy at raves to guarantee a pure product. This proposal was not supported by the coalition. Here is the Dutch article.
The article doesn't mention what the spray is called. I found this online.
I think it's the responsibility of the parents to use this spray, not of the government and schools.
Say goodbye to our free country.

Easy Mac Micro Maniac
Ever wondered what would happen if you put something in a microwave, not following the instructions? I guess everyone knows what happens if you put tinfoil in a microwave, but do you what happens if you put a bag marsh mallows in it?
Like will it blend, they'll put lots of stuff inside it. The question is: How long does it take to reach meltdown?

Germany: Scientologists Tom Cruise Not Wanted
Germany has barred the makers of a movie about a plot to kill Adolf Hitler from filming at German military sites because its star Tom Cruise is a Scientologist, the Defence Ministry said on Monday.
Cruise, also one of the film's producers, is a member of the Church of Scientology which the German government does not recognise as a church. Berlin says it masquerades as a religion to make money, a charge Scientology leaders reject.

www.rainbowboys.org is born!
It links directly to rainbowboys.blogspot.com . They(space1) don't support url redirects so www.rainbowboys.org will not appear in the url bar. They do allow IP redirects, but rainbowboys.blogspot.com is the google IP (this is as far as I understand how it works).

The Big Mac index
The Economist's Big Mac index is based on the theory of purchasing-power parity (PPP), according to which exchange rates should adjust to equalise the price of a basket of goods and services around the world. Our basket is a burger: a McDonald’s Big Mac.
The Big Mac Index is presumably useful because it is based on a well-known good whose final price, easily tracked in many countries, includes input costs from a wide range of sectors in the local economy, such as agricultural commodities (beef, bread, lettuce, tomatoes), labor (blue and white collar), advertising, rent and real estate costs, transportation, etc.
More on: Wikipedia, The Economist(including the index) and NRC Handelsblad (Dutch)
However, after a quick search, I discovered a webpage which told me Big Mac's aren't equal in different countries. Still, in my opinion, I belief the Big Mac index has it's purpose: It's making perfectly clear whether McDonalds is overpricing somewhere.

Dihydrogen Monoxide - Coverup
The dangers, uses and potential threats posed by this chemical, Dihydrogen Monoxide, are widespread, and some feel, terrifying. Here is just a small taste of what Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is:
- Some call Dihydrogen Monoxide the "Invisible Killer"
- Others think dihydrogen monoxide should be Banned
- Dihydrogen Monoxide is linked to gun violence
- Dihydrogen monoxide was found at every recent school shooting
- Athletes use DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE, or DHMO, to enhance performance
- Dihydrogen Monoxide has been found in our rivers, lakes, oceans and streams
- Dihydrogen Monoxide is a major component of acid rain
- Thousands die each year after inhaling dihydrogen monoxide
- Dihydrogen Monoxide can be deadly

The Creation Museum
"The Creation Museum is a 60,000 square foot, $27 million museum in the United States designed to promote young Earth creationism. The museum presents an account of the origins of the universe, life, mankind, and man's early history according to a literal reading of the book of Genesis. Its exhibits assert that the planet is just a few thousand years old and that man and dinosaurs once coexisted, a view contrasting with the findings of over 99% of the scientists in relevant fields who accept that the earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old, and that the dinosaurs became extinct 65.5 million years before human beings arose.[1] The museum has generated criticism by the scientific community, several groups of educators, several Christian groups, and in the general press.[2][3][4][5]
The museum is privately funded through donations to the apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis and opened its doors to the public on May 28, 2007.[6] Based on projections, the museum is anticipating 250,000 paying visitors in its first year of operation.[7]"

The Betuweroute opens!
It is finally more or less finished(read: testing starts), the Betuweroute. Total costs, for this 2-rail 160 km long railroad from the port of Rotterdam to the border with Germany, are 4.7 billion Euro.
That is 15000 Euro for a single meter of single rail-track. That has to be a fucking modern high-tech railroad!?!?

- 190 fauna passages
- 5 tunnels, total length: 18 km

- no same level crossingsThe tunnels are probably the most expensive part.
Chicago's Meigs Airfield closed for "homeland security reasons."
Sneaking in under the cover of darkness, city of Chicago construction crews began tearing up the runway at Meigs Field this morning at about 1:30 a.m. There was no advance warning, not even to the FAA. Some 16 aircraft are stranded on the field. A city source told the Chicago media that the "airport is closed for good" for "homeland security reasons."
The Meigs control tower had no idea about the closing. Closing the airport also closes the tower, which monitored the airspace near downtown Chicago. Ironically, while Daley frequently complains "nobody knows anything about those airplanes flying near Chicago," closing the tower means that there is now no air traffic control exercised over aircraft flying along the lakefront.Chicago Mayor Daley had sought to close Meigs until a year ago, when an historic agreement between the city and the State of Illinois "guaranteed" the airport's survival for 25 years. Daley gave his word that he would not seek to close Meigs in exchange for support for his plan to expand O'Hare International Airport and build a new airport at Peotone.

Why Kate Hates the FCC
A collection of newspaper snippets depicting the Nazi-like regime of the FCC in the USA.
One of the first to incur the wrath of the newly muscular FCC, U2 singer Bono was censured by the FCC for his use of the F-word when accepting a Golden Globe award in 2003. The initial FCC ruling was that his use of the offending word (”This is really, really, fucking brilliant!”) was merely crude and offensive. However, it was amended over a year later in light of the Nipplegate incident, when all use of the F-word was forbidden.
Nervousness about the use of the F-word and the threat of sanction from the FCC reached an apotheosis when 66 local stations dropped plans to show Steven Spielberg’s second world war drama because of its explicit language.
The FCC launched an investigation into complaints of indecency - ie, partial nudity - in NBC’s coverage of the opening ceremony of the 2004 Athens Olympics.
American public television network PBS is censoring BBC drama documentary Dirty War. PBS said it would cut scenes featuring a naked woman being decontaminated in a shower, in the film that centres on the aftermath of a dirty bomb attack on London.Click the title for the entire list, it's a little dated ('05) but it gives you the general idea.

Dollarcrisis ja of nee?
Vervolg

Women now ‘raping’ men
Yesterday Tembisa police confirmed that it appeared there were women on the rampage in the area who were “raping men”.
One of the alleged victims was treated for a bruised penis at a local hospital after three women allegedly forced him to have sex with them.
“They threatened him, forced him to take off his pants, and then rubbed lotion on his penis to get an erection. The other woman kept watch while the arrested woman had sex with the man,” police said.
No one has been arrested in connection with the first incident, but police confirmed that a 24-year-old man from Tembisa was abducted at gunpoint by three women travelling in a white BMW and kept for three days against his will.
“He reported that the women, who were older than him, made him drink some liquids and then took turns having sex with him."
“They did not talk too much, but had sex with him as he lay face-up on the bed in a house.”
Talk of syndicates of women “raping” men around Tembisa have been circulating in the area for the past year. One resident interviewed said men were afraid to walk in open veld alone or at night.
