Wiki's post about the 4007 buildings reminded me of an article in Scientific American about what would happen to our structures when we all leave Earth right now. It had a lot of cool pictures, which was the best part of the article, but they are not available online.Here is a diagram of what would probably happen:

So we need to build a house from plastic and glass to remain to the 52007.
About plastics they say in the article:
"they would not break down until microbes evolved the ability to consume them"
I wonder if there are scientists that are working to genetically manipulate microbes on this ability. Would be nice for the garbage dumps.
Nice, though I doubt some of the claims in the article. Like methane vanishing, there are many natural methane sources.
