Also if you use imgur instead of Blogger you can post a large thumbnail if you go to 'tags' and then the tab more sizes. This prevents forcing the browser to load the whole image and resize it.
Blogger upload work good these days. Upload pick, click on pick in compose window, click X-Large to make the thumbnail fit the size of our blog. It is already auto centered too. Works wonders.
As an added bonus, my script for the random images is made for blogger and not imgur.
