Cool! I think you can do this with one egg. If you ever peeled a boiled egg, you know there is a thin semi-transparent layer underneath the shell. I've once completely peeled an unboiled egg while leaving the transparent skin intact.
Not sure if it needs the shell, but there actually is a thin transparent skin beneath the shell that makes for a transparent container.

WOW, how did they do this? Did they make the shell transparent? Or place the embryo in a special container?
My guess is they just opened the eggs after x days.

Interesting, I think with care the embryo might survive that. I want a timelapse! :)
