I like the new layout. Nice and clean, I do miss the carebears though.
Also the comparison isn't scaled correctly. The post area in both version looks the same width, but the new once is much wider. For a good comparison you should show the same posts.
Also notice that Google allows linking to the full image of blogger uploads now. You have to manually remove the /s1600 from the url and add ?imgmax=0.

Instead of setting the blog template back to default, I decided to make a contribution to the new design. Each posttitle has the carebear font again!
