I'm SABbing (Study Avoiding Behaviour) pretty hard today:
Annom and I have added a digg button to all posts. Clicking it (not the one in the previous sentence, but the one at the bottom) will bring you to Digg, where the permalink to the post is already filled in. all you need to do is make a title and description. If the post has already been submitted, digging it will give us an extra digg point, which will give the post more exposure.
Maybe we can get another Liquid Metal like success. Always fun to have more visitors. So sign up to Digg and start digging the posts you really like on our blog.
Digg has a few rules though:
* Submit things you think a lot of other people might be interested in.But it's up to the users to bury a story if they don't like it, so we'll just see what happens.
* Link to the original source, not a site that's simply copying others' work.
* Don't submit content that violates our Terms of Service. It's there for this reason.
* Yes, you can submit your own content to Digg — just think about whether it's of general interest to others.
Maybe someone else wants to add a reddit or similar button. Or maybe we don't want this kind of thing on our blog. Discuss...

Cool!
I added the digg version where you also see a counter and can digg it. I think that's even better.
Do you think we also get banned(google ads) when we all vote up on multiple posts?
Digg policy says that you can promote your own pages if that's what you mean.
I intentionally added the Digg logo without the counter because most times nobody will Digg it. Really most Digg posts end up virtually undigged. Having all post with 1-5 diggs depending on how enthusiastic we are, looks a bit pathetic. But the question is open for discussion...
Maybe I stand corrected, the Running by Numbers has already received a non-rainbow digg. Lets see how it goes and decide later.
Hehe, yes, I agree. That would be a bit pathetic. And yes, most posts will end up with 1-5 diggs.
We'll decide later... that's our way of dealing with things anyway.
I've removed my digg image for now, no problem to put it back if we decide otherwise.
Ok. we'll see. I was the one who sumitted and buried this post while playing/testing digg.
Sorry that I've mostly been Digging my own posts, besides dekus's Bugatti post. It's because I try to follow the guideline a bit, and a post with just a single YouTube video, should be dugg on the YouTube page, not our blog.
Yes, only posts that have home-made content or that combine different sources into one post can be submitted.
I've also made the permalink page (which the incoming diggers see) a bit nicer. I added a home button, and made the comment number readable.
Damn, I can't seem to figure out how to make the comment box the same width as the post box without screwing up the blog...
The digg thingy isn't on the permalink page. Can we fix that?
Nice home button btw!!!
Done...
Having more unique visitors would be nice, but not the most important thing to me.
I'm ok with this 'digg experiment', but we should consider stopping when it isn't giving any effect.
The post-footer is now really messy, maybe someone can put them back on a single line.
I can't help imaging a s before 'permalink'. May I alter it?
Well, if you must. Though I think spermalink is kind of a lame pun.
Yes, it would be nice if it was on one line again. I did that once when it was fucked up and do remember that it wasn't easy to get everything on one line. I'm not sure how I did it back then, maybe douchebag can do it without any pain in the brain.
I would rather drop the whole permalink, and replace it with "link" or something else.
permalink is an accepted form of blog slang. Just visit some blogs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permalink
Looks like someone has been badly fucking with the template, I see double digg logo's in posts and counters not working...
everything seems fine again
I was not the one fucking with the blog (I have the power to use preview), but I am the one who used his mad CSS skilllzzors to fix the last line and put everything on one line!
NICE!
I know permalink is accepted slang, I just don't like the sound of it :)
Oh, I almost forgot: I don't think I'll be "digging" that much.
It feels like a huge effort in order to get a handful of extra visitors.
combine my honesty with the absence of a reaction from dekus, douchy or wiki and the well-known laziness of Mr. Wiggles and Expandable Asset, I consider you two very brave!!
second thought: maybe I'll sign up to digg. (That makes me brave too!)
I really don't see what the fuck you are talking about. Huge effort?
We only submit posts that are our own creation or are a collection of links, stories and pictures. That's maybe 5% of all posts. Then you click digg and that's your huge effort. WTF?
I don't really care about extra visitors, but I think it is a fun experiment and far from a huge effort to click digg when cybrbeast(or someone else) submitted a post.
It's just one click....
I agree with Annom. And I like unique visitors. It's a great way to spread the Rainbow vibe.
It's not like you have to submit posts, we can take care of that. You only have to click Digg on the posts, that you like, and that we dug.
About the permalink, for me it's permanent. Unless you have a better alternative. "Link" is not a good alternative cause that suggest a possible external link like the title. Permanent Link would be no problem for me. Or Hard Link. Maybe just get used to it? I used to think blog was a stupid term, now I'm quite okay with it.
sorry did I step on your penis?
Did I ever say it _is_ a huge effort? NO! I only said it _feels_ like an huge effort.
It's like doing the dished, you think it'll take you at least an hour, but after all your done in a few minutes and you think," o that was't so bad after all". See, I don't mind making an effort here, only the idea of making the effort.
I've really got no clue how much clicking and typing it requires to digg or submit a post. And if you say it's only one click, perhaps I'll click the 5%. (like I said, I wanna be brave too!)
lol, comparing one click to doing the dishes :)
the whole feature of the button is that you can digg in one click.
What a comparison. You must do the dishes at superluminal speed or something.
