Yeah, awesome map.

Notice the lifeboats from Digg to Reddit. I hate those immigrants ruining my interwebs since Eternal September. Reddit's mainpage is what Digg was 1-2 years ago, it just lags behind in stupidity, but in the end all will end up like youtube comments.

Not much you can do about it, but hide in some dark subreddits, or find a new place. Preferably too hard to find or get in for your average Joe.

Original xkcd link (added to title). Also, the first one, from a few years ago.

Reddit isn't as bad as Digg yet. I think there's a chance that Reddit will assimilate the Diggers reasonably well. Especially since there is a lot of downvoting of posts and comments.
Also the creators are much less commercial than Digg.

Did you notice the Fok.nl forums in there?

Also Bokt.nl? wtf...

Bokt.nl? A dutch horse riding forum?

I've seen Reddit change over the last 3-4 years and the exponential growth makes its culture change very rapidly. Not always a bad thing though and it is interesting to see how it evolves and still has its original identity. I think something like the Colbert rally thing would make for a good thesis subject for Douchebag.

The same happens with the Shroomery, but there is no voting system on a traditional forum which makes the problem much worse.

Conservative me :)
