Earth Without People

Wiki's post about the 4007 buildings reminded me of an article in Scientific American about what would happen to our structures when we all leave Earth right now. It had a lot of cool pictures, which was the best part of the article, but they are not available online.

Interesting read.

Nice to see that earth recover pretty fast from the human pollution (except nuclair waste).

So we need to build a house from plastic and glass to remain to the 52007.

About plastics they say in the article:
"they would not break down until microbes evolved the ability to consume them"
I wonder if there are scientists that are working to genetically manipulate microbes on this ability. Would be nice for the garbage dumps.

Nice, though I doubt some of the claims in the article. Like methane vanishing, there are many natural methane sources.
Also I had to edit your post when I found the image I added at the bottom online.
