Operation Homecoming: Writing the wartime experience

"Part of the America at a Crossroads documentary series aired on PBS earlier this year, Operation Homecoming is a unique approach at representing the war. Taking writings from soldiers deployed in Iraq, the producers of Operation Homecoming created a series of visual vignettes, attempting to create a wide variety of visual approaches to the writings and the subject matter. The visual styles range from animation, cinema verite, re-enactments, and CGI graphics." Here is the first documentary. It did remind me of Sin City Men in black "I was in my room reading a book (Thin Red Line) when the mortars started coming down. Sgt Horrocks ripped open the door and yelled, "Grab your guys! And go to the motor pool! The whole BATTALION is rolling out!" Holy shit! The whole Battalion?!" Continue reading or watch the documentary More on their website
