The Great Global Warming Swindle

Don't know if this has been posted here before, but I reckon this is in Annom's street. Haven't seen all of it yet, but it's a good view and quite interesting to see the other side of the story.

I've read about this documentary. Should be interesting. I'm downloading the high quality version (torren now and will watch it when it's finished.

I'll comment on it when I've seen it.

I watched it yesterday night. It looks like a decent documentary with some seemingly good arguments.

There are a few important basic things about global warming(not related to this video):
1. Global warming is real, the only question is whether it is (partly) caused by humans.

2. The climate is immensely complex and models are almost worthless in predicting reality. There are too many (unknown) processes involved.

3. There is no true compelling scientific evidence of causality between CO2 and global temperature. This is a very subjective statement because causality is subjective by nature.

4. Almost all climate scientist think/believe/reason that the current temperature rise can't be caused by natural processes alone.

5. The CO2 level is way higher than ever in the past 600,000 years. And still rising strong.

The documentary makes some claims that I know are false. Here is a website that does some serious debunking of this docu. I'll leave it to them :).

They make a good point about environmentalist who use global warming as their new weapon. They are whining bitches who try to hold the development of third world countries. There is a difference between climate scientists and stupid Greenpeace though.

I have to go with the majority of scientist on global warming. I know their job depends on global warming and I know there always is a conflict of interests, even in science, but I still have to believe them if such a great majority agrees on something.

It is sad that I partly have to rely on a higher power(majority of scientist), but there are too many researches(raw data) and too many interpretations to come up with my own conclusion. That is only possible if you can work full time on it.

Anyway.... We are running out of oil anyway, so I don't give a shit if we cause global warming or not. We need to look a other energy sources and using a little less energy won't hurt us either.

/end rant.
