Antennae galaxies’ fertile marriage

A new Hubble image of the Antennae galaxies is the sharpest yet of this merging pair of galaxies. As the two galaxies smash together, thousand of millions of stars are born, mostly in groups and clusters of stars. note: this post has been copy+pasted from the original article due to lack of time. Annom edit: Here is the image: And here another nice Hubble image, the Sombrero galaxy: I hope they are going to repair Hubble now that the Space Shuttle flies again.

Nice resolution!

I'm waiting for the James Webb telescope which will be much better and bigger than Hubble.

But they also should keep the Hubble running. It has greatly expanded our view of the cosmos.
